Gregorian, Magical Christmas at Annexet, 24 November 2027

When Gregorian comes to Annexet in Stockholm, the audience is treated to a concert experience far beyond the ordinary. For decades, the ensemble has captivated millions of listeners worldwide by transforming modern hits into Gregorian chant, and in the magical Christmas performance this power is enhanced even further. Here, spiritual choir sounds meet grand arrangements, all framed in a visual staging that evokes a devotional monastery vault adorned for Christmas. Gregorian was created in the 1990s with the vision of reviving the ancient vocal tradition that once gave the group its signature. With an ensemble of both male and female voices, they perform interpretations of classics otherwise sung in entirely different musical contexts. The Christmas concert takes this a step further, weaving together traditional Christmas songs to create a whole that feels both solemn and moving. The connection to church music's solemnity combined with modern instrumentation makes each performance unique. The audience's reaction is typically marked by a blend of reverence and fascination, not least when the soundscape is enhanced by candlelight and scenography that underscores the theme. For those who appreciate choral singing in its purest form combined with skilled stage production, this offers an unforgettable evening. The connection to Advent and the Christmas season enhances the experience further. On 24 November 2027, Annexet invites you to a concert that will set the mood for the coming holidays long before December arrives.
